LOUISVILLE – The Kentucky Baptist Convention has appointed Scott Pittman to partnership missions director and Coy Webb to disaster relief associate.

Pittman and Webb are both part of the KBC’s Missions Growth Team and are based out of the KBC’s Louisville headquarters.

Pittman
As partnership missions director, Pittman is responsible for developing the KBC’s in-state, national and international missions partnerships and coordinating efforts with the Southern Baptist Convention’s International Mission Board and North American Mission Board. Pittman also works with Kentucky Baptist churches to facilitate short-term mission trips.

Pittman has been serving as a missionary in northeast Brazil through the SBC’s International Mission Board since 1991. While in Brazil, he served in a variety of roles, including strategy facilitator, church planter, strategy coordinator, partnership coordinator, field leader, Baptist seminary professor, and state evangelism director.

Prior to going overseas, Pittman served as senior pastor of Simpsonville Baptist Church in Simpsonville. He also previously served for three years in various roles at Fairdale Baptist Church in Fairdale.

Pittman holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Mid-American Baptist Theological Seminary.

Webb
As disaster relief associate, Webb oversees the disaster relief efforts of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. More than 7,000 individuals are trained as disaster relief workers in Kentucky to respond in emergency situations.

Prior to joining the Mission Board staff, Webb served for 16 years as pastor of First Baptist Church, Monticello. He has a total of 27 years of pastoral experience, having served several churches in Kansas and Tennessee before coming to Kentucky.

Webb also served for four years as a missionary with the Christian Social Ministry Center in Kansas City, Kan. Commissioned by the Southern Baptist Convention’s North American Mission Board, Webb managed the daily operations of the center and served as the site coordinator for the Kansas/Nebraska Southern Baptist Disaster Relief team.

Webb holds a Master of Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee.

Kentucky Baptists are part of a larger network of Southern Baptist volunteers trained to respond to disasters by manning mass feeding operations, using chainsaws to clear downed trees and limbs, clear mud out of flooded homes and more. Together, Southern Baptists compose the third largest relief organization in the United States.

The Kentucky Baptist Convention is a cooperative missions and ministry organization made up of more than 2,400 autonomous Baptist churches in Kentucky. A variety of state and worldwide ministries are coordinated through its administrative headquarters in Louisville, Ky. including: missions work, disaster relief, ministry training and support, church development, evangelism and more.
