Hmm...so you want to help strengthen marriages and provide a focused time for married couples to learn and share together. Have you considered planning a weekend marriage retreat for your church? It's not as tough as you might think! We've put together some great tips to help you get started.
Marriage Preparation Seminar
Eqip mature married couples to use FOCCUS, and effective ministry tool for marriage preparation, with seriously dating and engaged couples as they prepare to beging their marital journey.
Marriage Mentoring Ministry
Marriage Mentoring Ministry is an intentional ministry of the church whereby nearly and newly married couples are guided and encouraged toward healthy, growing marriage relationships. The church actively enlists and equips select lay couples to minister to nearly and newly married couples through intentional marriage mentoring relationships that focus on mutual support, growth, encouragement, and enrichment. Ministry objectives include:
- To provide a support ministry to nearly and newly married couples in developing healthy relational skills and in building spiritual, emotional, and physical intimacy in their marriage.
- To provide ongoing training to equip select couples to serve as marriage mentors to nearly and newly married couples.
- To provide regular group meeting experiences that focus on support, growth, enrichment, and fellowship for couples participating in the mentoring ministry.

A Covenant Marriage Congregation is a congregation that commits to providing a ministry to married couples who are members of their congregation or who are planning to be married within their congregation based on the following statement of affirmation: “Believing that marriage is a covenant intended by God to be a lifelong, fruitful relationship between a man and a woman, we vow to God, each other, our family, and our community to remain steadfast in unconditional love, reconciliation, and sexual purity while purposefully growing in our covenant marriage relationship.”
Marriage Enrichment Leadership Training (MELT)
Marriage Enrichment Leadership Training (MELT) is a training and education event for marriage education leaders in the state of Kentucky. Experienced marriage educators and facilitators guide Kentucky couple leaders through personal marriage enrichment experiences, provide current information on the Covenant Marriage Movement in our country, and explore ways to help local churches in establishing and expanding an intentional marriage enrichment ministry. MELT is an invitation only experience in order to 1) create an affinity group from among Kentucky established leadership; 2) ensure a diversity within the leadership group; and 3) ensure personal follow up-accountability. The focal points for the event rotate. MELT is held in the first quarter of each new year.
